How do my PC and phone stay in sync?
You sign in to Pusula Browser with the same OA Labs account on both devices. Your bookmarks, quick links, open tabs and history are saved to your account and reach the other device on their own, and your passwords too if you want. A change on one device shows up on the other when you open the app, or within a few minutes while it’s open.
Do I need an account to sync?
No account is needed for anything but sync. Every feature works without signing in, and your data stays on that device.
Do my passwords sync, and is it safe?
If you want. You set a sync passphrase in “Sync settings”; your passwords are encrypted with it on your device (AES-256), and only the encrypted copy reaches our server. The passphrase is never sent anywhere, so nobody, OA Labs included, can see your passwords. Type the same passphrase on the other device and they open there too. If you don’t turn on password sync, your passwords stay on that device.
Can I switch from Chrome?
Yes. Export your bookmarks (.html) and passwords (.csv) from Chrome, Edge or Firefox, then choose “Import” from the menu in Pusula Browser. Everything comes over in one go.
Is it paid? Are there ads?
No. Pusula Browser is completely free; we don’t show ads, and it blocks the ones on websites by default.
Which engine shows the pages?
On Windows, Microsoft Edge’s engine (WebView2); on Android, your phone’s own web engine (Android System WebView). Sites look just as they do in Chrome and Edge.
Why does Windows show a warning?
The app isn’t digitally signed yet, so Windows may say “Windows protected your PC” the first time. Choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
Why isn’t it on Google Play?
For now we distribute it directly from here. The app is always signed with the same OA key, so new versions install over the old one and your data isn’t lost.
How does it update?
When a new version is out, the app lets you know; “Check for updates” in the menu downloads and installs it in one tap.
